The Turbine Hall took more than two years to remake but the city of Johannesburg now boasts an iconic new venue in the heart of its arts and culture precinct, Newtown.

The building that started out as a power station for the city in the late 1920’s is an integral part of Johannesburg’s architectural history and is fast becoming a much coveted wedding and party venue, as well the location of choice for corporate launches and SA Fashion Week.
the forum | turbine hall has been designed to accommodate a wide range of requirements and offers the same five-star service, state-of-the-art technology, exceptional food, décor and style our clients have come to expect from the forum company. Facilities comprise conference rooms and function venues with a capacity to host exhibitions or conferences varying from 10 to 500 people, dinners for up to 320 and cocktail parties for up to 800. There is also a trendy upmarket bar, private dining area and Chef’s Table.  The venue now offers high quality, easy-to-use, secure internet services through our new Wi-Fi internet hotspots supported by Always On.

There is connected underground parking for up to 200 vehicles during the day, and 650 connected parking bays for evening functions.
The Turbine Hall development team received The Colosseum Award, at the Johannesburg Development Agency’s Halala Awards for the restoration and preservation of the building. These awards give recognition to regeneration efforts and celebrate inner-city change
