It could not have been a better November afternoon, not hot nor cold - just right to host the Healthbridge year end party. A massive marquee, dressed in our corporate colours: orange, white and grey, was erected to provide the guests with an outdoor experience that would never be forgotten. Exotic cocktails were flowing as 200 guests quaffed away the stresses of a busy year.
the forum company organized a conference recently for one of the biggest financial firms in South Africa, Stanlib. The purpose of their conference was to launch their pension funds to a party of selected guests Tables were set in the ‘leg spin’, draped with exquisite fabrics and adorned with flickering lanterns on each table, giving the entire evening a magical ambience. Once again, style and sophistication were the order of the evening. Who says launching pension funds has to be dry and boring? With us, never!
On the Private Label side, 2007 saw many high-end fabulous events. One such roaring success was the Waterford estates “Iconic wine launch” Every decent wine estate launches an iconic wine, and when Waterford released their superb blend “THE JEM” the owners approached the forum | private label to make the night an unforgettable one.
The tennis court at one of the owner’s homes was transformed, with plush carpeting and a slick black Nomadik tent. Guests enjoyed some of South Africa’s finest method de Cap under a perfect summer’s evening sky before moving to the main event in the tent: the unveiling of the much anticipated “JEM” and, of course, the tasting of it. Other Waterford wines were also on the menu and executive chef Kim Roberts paired unique dishes with each wine. Tasty delicacies included Whole-wheat Blinis with Crème Fraiche and Caviar, Langoustine Wontons with a creamy Seafood Bisque presented in Chinese Spoons, Pressed Guinea Fowl Terrine with Foie Gras and Smoked Ham Hock with a beet glaze, Camembert and Asparagus Risotto and Roasted lamb Loin on Parmesan Polenta Cake dressed with a Coriander and Mint Pesto.
The décor was uncluttered, ensuring that the wines remained the stars of the show. Simple black covered cocktail tables with classic stools provided much needed seating and an understated touch of elegance. A relaxed lounge was a lovely practical, yet chic, addition. And of course the all important dance floor, with DJ Louis spinning his discs, kept the guests entertained all night long.
