the forum company known for our style, great food and sophisticated events and conferences, has injected our magic into the Baxter Theatre complex giving its bars and restaurants a completely new look, and making them the places to be seen for pre-theatre drinks and dinner.


Conferences & events
During the day expect conference venues of a world-class standard seating up to 665 people in three different venues.   Entertainment areas can host 30 to 650 guests, making the Baxter the perfect place for more intimate occasions, as well as corporate dinners and fabulous cocktail parties.  Please view our conference spaces and function spaces pages for more information on the facilities.

Play Bar 
During the day, Play is a coffee bar offering fresh meals and baked indulgences.  Enjoy a healthy breakfast or a light lunch - for a quick pop-in, there are affordable grab & go meals such as gourmet paninis and wraps.  The coffee bar is open from Mondays to Fridays, 8am - 5pm.  

By night, Play is transformed into a trendy tapas and wine bar serving platters from R30.  Tapas menus are available from Tuesdays to Saturdays, 5pm - 11pm.  Play Bar is Halaal friendly.

Act Restaurant
The stylish Act Restaurant offers contemporary bistro-style fare and is open for dinner from 6pm. Guests can enjoy an a la carte menu with unique culinary delights and an extensive wine list to suit all tastes.  The restaurant is ideal for pre-show dining, but can also be booked for corporate and private functions. (Closed on selected nights) Bookings are essential so please contact us to reserve your table.  Act Restaurant is Halaal friendly.  Click here to view our a la carte menu. 

Act Restaurant was awarded gold in the 2011 Diners Club Winelist Awards for the Western Cape region.


Outside catering
Offering catering for private and corporate functions, the forum│the baxter is dedicated to providing fresh, quality meals made daily from the finest local ingredients.  With a variety of menu options from gourmet sandwiches and wraps to 3 course meals, we cater for 10 – 500 guests and pride ourselves in personalised service and a value for money approach.  Service staff are available on request.  We cater for:
